In his 25 years in the field of project management for construction projects, John Cursio has amassed considerable experience and expertise in both public- and private-sector projects. Mr. Cursio’s career has encompassed everything from a site superintendent to a Senior Project manager on multimillion-dollar public-works projects to oversight of budgeting and consultation for long-term capital improvement jobs. At all points along this career path, John Cursio was responsible for ensuring that projects were completed on budget and on time.
A graduate of The University of Western Ontario and George Brown College, John Cursio has served in project management positions with Ontario’s Ministry of Government Services, where he implemented regional repair and maintenance programs as well as addressed contractual disputes between contractors and the Ministry itself. At the province’s Management Board Secretariat, Mr. Cursio was in charge of planning and budgeting for minor capital projects and repair programs, drawing up training programs for asbestos, ensuring compliance with health and safety codes, and creating budgets and forecasts for operations.
John Cursio served for 13 years at The Ontario Realty Corporation (ORC), overseeing financial and administrative decisions on major capital projects, coaching teams of consultants and engineers, and submitting Requests for Proposal to the appropriate agencies. John Cursio advanced to the position of Vice President with the corporation, where he represented the ORC in dealings with organizations like the Ontario Association of Architects, Professional Engineers of Ontario, and Ontario General Contractors Association. His other duties included dealing with human resource issues, creating work and project priorities, and assuring that occupancy dates were met for new construction projects.
In October 2010, John Cursio brought his experience and knowledge to Envirowall Partition Systems, Ltd., where he served as the company’s Manager of Business Development. At Envirowall, Mr. Cursio’s responsibilities included building customer relationships, enhancing sales volume, ensuring customer satisfaction, and coordinating with architects and interior design firms on all projects.
